Frequent Amounts of Mild Fantasy

“Art is a guarantee of sanity.
That is the most important
thing I have said.”

                       (Louise Bourgeois)

My work is personal but as such is universal, seeking to shine a bit of light on the normal experience of our internal lives.  At times I revel in the darker qualities of life, a necessary part of living and an equal to positivity, co dependant.  I try to respond to the beauty I find in this contrast and interplay between dark and light, ambiguous and sometimes humorous.   I am drawn towards pattern and design, at the same time like images to be slightly discordant and with some sense of drama.  I love to draw freely, away from the strictures of the overly composed piece and some of the work here represents this.
